Top 10 Event Ticketing Platforms in Kenya (2026): Fees, Payouts and Features Compared

We compared ten ticketing platforms in Kenya on fees, payouts, M-Pesa checkout and fraud protection. Here's how they stack up, and why EventYangu comes first.

Choosing a ticketing platform is one of the few decisions that touches every shilling of your event. It decides how fans pay, how fast you get your money, whether fake tickets get through the gate, and how much of each sale you keep.

Kenya now has more options than ever. Ticketmaster's Quicket arrived in August 2026, creator platforms like HustleSasa sell tickets next to merchandise, and long-standing names like Ticketsasa and Mtickets still run big shows. We compared ten platforms on what organizers tell us matters most: fees, payouts, M-Pesa checkout, fraud protection and gate tools.

How we ranked the platforms

We scored each platform on seven things an organizer in Kenya actually feels:

  1. Published, simple fees. Can you work out your costs before you launch, without a sales call?
  2. Payout speed. How soon does ticket money reach your M-Pesa or bank?
  3. M-Pesa-first checkout. Can a fan pay in seconds from an STK prompt, with no account to create?
  4. Fraud protection. Are tickets hard to copy, and does the gate catch duplicates?
  5. Gate tools. Is there a scanner that works when the venue network dies?
  6. Selling tools. Discount codes, promoter links, group buys, instalments and bulk SMS.
  7. Livestream tickets. Can you sell online access to fans who can't attend?

1. EventYangu: best overall ticketing platform in Kenya

EventYangu was built in Nairobi for how Kenyan fans actually buy: on a phone, with M-Pesa, often the night before. That focus shows up in every part of the product.

Fees you can predict. Paid events cost 3% per ticket sold, and payment processing is included. Free events are free forever. There is no setup fee, monthly subscription or contract. You choose per event whether buyers pay the fee or you absorb it. See the full breakdown on our pricing page.

Your money the same day. Sales land in your balance as they happen. Once your account is verified you can withdraw the same day to M-Pesa, Paybill, Till or bank at no charge, or instantly for KES 50.

Checkout in seconds. Fans pick tickets, enter a phone number and approve the M-Pesa prompt. No account, no password. Cards work too. Tickets arrive on WhatsApp, SMS and email within seconds and stay in My tickets on the phone, even offline.

Tickets that can't be screenshotted. Every EventYangu ticket is signed, and the QR code refreshes every 30 seconds, so screenshots and forwarded copies are rejected at the gate.

A gate that never goes down. The scanner runs on any phone, downloads your guest list so it works without internet, checks a ticket in about 30 milliseconds and syncs between gates every few seconds so the same ticket can never get in twice.

Tools that sell more tickets. Discount codes, promoter links with commission tracking, group buy (friends each pay their share), Lipa Polepole (pay a deposit now, clear the balance before the event), a waitlist that texts fans when seats open, bulk SMS to ticket holders at KES 1 per SMS, and team roles for managers, finance and gate staff. Need posters or a push? Our marketing and design team can help.

Livestream tickets built in. With EventYangu Live, fans who can't make it buy an online ticket with M-Pesa and watch on their phone. Playback is secured per ticket with device limits, replays can run for up to 30 days, and online sales pay out the same way as your gate tickets. Read our livestreaming guide.

Where it may not fit: if your audience is mostly outside Africa and pays by card, a global platform's discovery network may matter more to you than M-Pesa.

Verdict: the most complete package for Kenyan organizers, with the clearest pricing on this list. Create your event free.

2. Quicket: best for big festivals wanting global reach

Quicket is a South African platform owned by Ticketmaster. It launched in Kenya in August 2026 with M-Pesa and Airtel Money, and partners including the Beneath the Baobabs festival and EatOut. Its standout feature is distribution: events can appear on Spotify, Google, Meta, Bandsintown and Apple Music. Quicket has said WhatsApp ticketing and AI discovery tools are in development.

Consider it if you run a large festival and want international listing. Watch for: Kenyan fees aren't published yet, so ask for a quote and compare it with a 3% benchmark.

3. Ticketsasa: best if you already use Pesapal

Ticketsasa is Pesapal's event ticketing product. It covers online sales, ticket verification, sales reports, marketing support and gate sales, and also sells holiday packages. Pricing is on request.

Consider it if your business already settles through Pesapal. Watch for: reviewers note the interface can feel heavy for first-time organizers, and you'll need a quote to compare costs.

4. Mookh: best for high-demand sports and concert drops

Mookh has sold tickets for major concerts and for CHAN 2024 matches. Listing an event is free and a fee applies when tickets sell, but the rate isn't published. It supports promo codes and agent and admin roles, and checkout uses M-Pesa.

Consider it if you're running a large sports or concert drop. Watch for: confirm the fee and payout timing before launch.

5. HustleSasa: best for creators selling tickets with merch

HustleSasa is a creator storefront that sells digital products, services and event tickets. Its published Kenyan fees are 5.8% on your own storefront and 6.9% through the marketplace, with KSh 100 to withdraw to mobile money or KSh 500 to a bank. Payouts settle within 24 hours.

Consider it if you sell merch, courses and tickets from one shop. Watch for: ticketing is one feature among many, so gate scanning and event tools are lighter than a dedicated platform's.

6. Mtickets: best for cinema, travel and stadium-style ticketing

Mtickets is one of Kenya's established names, selling event, cinema, travel and sports tickets. Pricing is on request.

Consider it if you run a large entertainment venue. Watch for: independent organizers may find newer platforms faster to set up.

7. Madfun: best for promoter-led shows and streams

Madfun runs its own shows, including the MadfunXperience concert headlined by Burna Boy, and sells tickets for live events, streams and travel. Buyers pay by mobile money or card.

Consider it if you want a platform that also promotes big-name shows. Watch for: fees and payout terms aren't published.

8. TikoHub: best for buyers paying by card or PayPal

TikoHub sells tickets for rugby sevens, concerts and events. It accepts M-Pesa, Visa, Mastercard and PayPal, delivers PDF tickets by email, and refunds cancelled events automatically. Service fees may not be refunded.

Consider it if many of your buyers are international. Watch for: card refunds can take 7 to 14 business days.

9. PataTicket: simple QR ticketing with a flat fee

PataTicket publishes a 10% platform fee, so organizers keep 90% of sales. It offers QR tickets, real-time analytics and M-Pesa payouts.

Consider it if you want something simple and don't mind the higher fee. Watch for: at 10%, a KES 500,000 event pays KES 50,000 in fees, against KES 15,000 at 3%.

10. Eventbrite: best for international audiences

Eventbrite is the world's best-known ticketing platform, with strong discovery and a card-first checkout. Fees, supported currencies and payout options vary by country, so check them in your Eventbrite dashboard before you launch.

Consider it if your buyers are mostly abroad. Watch for: M-Pesa isn't a native checkout option, which costs sales with local fans. Read our guide to Eventbrite alternatives in Kenya.

Honourable mentions

Tikiti sells football derbies, horse racing and club nights, with USSD purchase for some events. LangoPass serves Gor Mahia and club matches with M-Pesa, paybill and USSD. FKF Tickets handles Harambee Stars and FKF matches.

What the fee actually costs you

Take a show with 500 tickets at KES 1,000, or KES 500,000 in sales:

FeeYou payYou keep
3% (EventYangu)KES 15,000KES 485,000
5.8%KES 29,000KES 471,000
10%KES 50,000KES 450,000

On EventYangu you can also pass the 3% to buyers, so you keep the full KES 500,000 and the fee is shown on the event page before anyone pays.

How to choose

  • Selling mostly to Kenyan fans on phones? Prioritise M-Pesa checkout with no sign-up. Every extra step loses buyers.
  • Need cash before the event? Ask exactly when payouts happen and what each withdrawal costs.
  • Worried about fakes? Ask whether QR codes change or stay the same. Static codes can be screenshotted and sold twice.
  • Big venue or poor network? Insist on an offline scanner that syncs across gates.
  • Can't find the fee? Treat "contact us for pricing" as a cost you'll only discover later.
